Specimen Requirements

Serum or Plasma

Preferred: Gold, Tiger top, or red top tube

Acceptable: Plasma, lithum heparin or EDTA

Specimen Transport Temperature

If testing will be delayed more than 24 hours remove serum from the clot and store at 2-8C for up to 7 days.

If testing will be delayed more than 7 days the specimen should be frozen at -10C
