Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma, heparinized (Serum is unacceptable)
Container/Tube: Dark-green top
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Collection Instructions: Preferrable collection is at HRRMC for immediate processing. Place tube on ice and take  immediately to the laboratory for testing.  Centrifuge and remove plasma within 15 minutes of collection.  Must be stored on ice and ran within 3 hours of collection.

 If COLLECTING OFF-SITE, place plain dark green top in ice immediately after draw, centrifuge immediately, then immediately remove plasma into plastic aliquot tube, mark aliquot as "Green top" then Immediately freeze aliquoted plasma.  MUST arrive FROZEN to HRRMC Lab SAME DAY as drawn.
