Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma, citrated

Container/Tube: Light-blue top

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Additional information: Plasma may be held at room temperature (20 5 °C) for a maximum of eight hours or separated, double-spun, and frozen at -20 to -80 °C in a plastic tube. Do not store plasma at 2-8 °C because in this temperature range, Factor VII may be activated by the kallikrein system. Frozen plasma may be stored for two weeks at -30 °C. F

11.6-15.2 seconds (non anticoagluated)

22.7-35.4 seconds (Therapeutic or anticoagulated)
