Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type:

Preferred: Urine, 24 hour

Acceptable: Urine, random

Container/Tube: 24-hour collection container or random urine container

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions:

1. For 24 hour collection: discard the first urine specimen at the beginning of the 24-hour period and collect all others including the one at the end of the time period. 

2. No preservatives are necessary.
